Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 214

  1. أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنْ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُمْ مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ مَسَّتْهُمُ الْبَأْسَاءُ وَالضَّرَّاءُ وَزُلْزِلُوا حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ الرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ مَتَىٰ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ

    Translation by words

    أَمْ
    Or
    حَسِبْتُمْ
    (do) you think
    أَن
    that
    تَدْخُلُوا۟
    you will enter
    ٱلْجَنَّةَ
    Paradise
    وَلَمَّا
    while not
    يَأْتِكُم
    (has) come to you
    مَّثَلُ
    like (came to)
    ٱلَّذِينَ
    those who
    خَلَوْا۟
    passed away
    مِن
    from
    قَبْلِكُم
    before you?
    مَّسَّتْهُمُ
    Touched them
    ٱلْبَأْسَآءُ
    [the] adversity
    وَٱلضَّرَّآءُ
    and [the] hardship,
    وَزُلْزِلُوا۟
    and they were shaken
    حَتَّىٰ
    until
    يَقُولَ
    said
    ٱلرَّسُولُ
    the Messenger
    وَٱلَّذِينَ
    and those who
    ءَامَنُوا۟
    believed
    مَعَهُۥ
    with him,
    مَتَىٰ
    "When
    نَصْرُ
    [will] (the) help
    ٱللَّهِ
    (of) Allah (come)
    أَلَآ
    Unquestionably,
    إِنَّ
    [Indeed]
    نَصْرَ
    help
    ٱللَّهِ
    (of) Allah
    قَرِيبٌ
    (is) near.

    Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such (trial) has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until (even their) messenger and those who believed with him said, "When is the help of Allah?" Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.
