Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 78

1. وَمِنْهُمْ أُمِّيُّونَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا أَمَانِيَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ

   Translation by words

   وَمِنْهُمْ

   And among them

   أُمِّيُّونَ

   (are) unlettered ones,

   لَا

   (who) do not

   يَعْلَمُونَ

   know

   ٱلْكِتَٰبَ

   the book

   إِلَّآ

   except

   أَمَانِىَّ

   wishful thinking

   وَإِنْ

   and not

   هُمْ

   they

   إِلَّا

   (do anything) except

   يَظُنُّونَ

   guess.

   And among them are unlettered ones who do not know the Scripture except in wishful thinking, but they are only assuming.
