Sura 31 Luqman, ayah 19

1. وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِنْ صَوْتِكَ ۚ إِنَّ أَنْكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ

   Translation by words

   وَٱقْصِدْ

   And be moderate

   فِى

   in

   مَشْيِكَ

   your pace

   وَٱغْضُضْ

   and lower

   مِن

   [of]

   صَوْتِكَ

   your voice.

   إِنَّ

   Indeed,

   أَنكَرَ

   (the) harshest

   ٱلْأَصْوَٰتِ

   (of all) sounds

   لَصَوْتُ

   (is) surely (the) voice

   ٱلْحَمِيرِ

   (of) the donkeys."

   And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."

   31:19
