Sura 10 Yunus (Jonas), ayah 88
-
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ آتَيْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَأَهُ زِينَةً وَأَمْوَالًا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا رَبَّنَا لِيُضِلُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِكَ ۖ رَبَّنَا اطْمِسْ عَلَىٰ أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاشْدُدْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ
Translation by words
- وَقَالَ
- And Musa said,
- مُوسَىٰ
- And Musa said,
- رَبَّنَآ
- "Our Lord!
- إِنَّكَ
- Indeed, You
- ءَاتَيْتَ
- have given
- فِرْعَوْنَ
- Firaun
- وَمَلَأَهُۥ
- and his chiefs
- زِينَةً
- splendor
- وَأَمْوَٰلًا
- and wealth
- فِى
- in
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
- the life
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world.
- رَبَّنَا
- Our Lord!
- لِيُضِلُّوا۟
- That they may lead astray
- عَن
- from
- سَبِيلِكَ
- Your way.
- رَبَّنَا
- Our Lord!
- ٱطْمِسْ
- Destroy
- عَلَىٰٓ
- [on]
- أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ
- their wealth
- وَٱشْدُدْ
- and harden
- عَلَىٰ
- [on]
- قُلُوبِهِمْ
- their hearts,
- فَلَا
- so (that) not
- يُؤْمِنُوا۟
- they believe
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- يَرَوُا۟
- they see
- ٱلْعَذَابَ
- the punishment -
- ٱلْأَلِيمَ
- the painful."
And Moses said, "Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead (men) astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment."
