Sura 11 Hud, ayah 27
-
فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ مَا نَرَاكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَاكَ اتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِيَ الرَّأْيِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ فَضْلٍ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَاذِبِينَ
Translation by words
- فَقَالَ
- So said
- ٱلْمَلَأُ
- the chiefs
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- مِن
- from
- قَوْمِهِۦ
- his people,
- مَا
- "Not
- نَرَىٰكَ
- we see you
- إِلَّا
- but
- بَشَرًا
- a man
- مِّثْلَنَا
- like us,
- وَمَا
- and not
- نَرَىٰكَ
- we see you
- ٱتَّبَعَكَ
- followed [you]
- إِلَّا
- except
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- هُمْ
- [they]
- أَرَاذِلُنَا
- (are) the lowest of us
- بَادِىَ
- immature in opinion.
- ٱلرَّأْىِ
- immature in opinion.
- وَمَا
- And not
- نَرَىٰ
- we see
- لَكُمْ
- in you
- عَلَيْنَا
- over us
- مِن
- any
- فَضْلٍۭ
- merit;
- بَلْ
- nay,
- نَظُنُّكُمْ
- we think you
- كَٰذِبِينَ
- (are) liars."
So the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "We do not see you but as a man like ourselves, and we do not see you followed except by those who are the lowest of us (and) at first suggestion. And we do not see in you over us any merit; rather, we think you are liars."
