Sura 12 Yusuf (Joseph), ayah 78

1. قَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا الْعَزِيزُ إِنَّ لَهُ أَبًا شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا فَخُذْ أَحَدَنَا مَكَانَهُ ۖ إِنَّا نَرَاكَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

   Translation by words

   قَالُوا۟

   They said,

   يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

   "O

   ٱلْعَزِيزُ

   Aziz!

   إِنَّ

   Indeed,

   لَهُۥٓ

   he has

   أَبًا

   a father

   شَيْخًا

   old

   كَبِيرًا

   [great],

   فَخُذْ

   so take

   أَحَدَنَا

   one of us

   مَكَانَهُۥٓ

   (in) his place.

   إِنَّا

   Indeed, we

   نَرَىٰكَ

   [we] see you

   مِنَ

   of

   ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

   the good-doers."

   They said, "O 'Azeez, indeed he has a father (who is) an old man, so take one of us in place of him. Indeed, we see you as a doer of good."
