Sura 16 Al-Nahl (The Bee), ayah 61
-
وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللَّهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِمْ مَا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ وَلَٰكِنْ يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۖ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
Translation by words
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- يُؤَاخِذُ
- Allah were to seize
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah were to seize
- ٱلنَّاسَ
- the mankind
- بِظُلْمِهِم
- for their wrongdoing
- مَّا
- not
- تَرَكَ
- He (would) have left
- عَلَيْهَا
- upon it
- مِن
- any
- دَآبَّةٍ
- moving creature,
- وَلَٰكِن
- but
- يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ
- He defers them
- إِلَىٰٓ
- for
- أَجَلٍ
- a term
- مُّسَمًّى
- appointed.
- فَإِذَا
- Then when
- جَآءَ
- comes
- أَجَلُهُمْ
- their terms
- لَا
- not
- يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
- they (will) remain behind
- سَاعَةً
- an hour
- وَلَا
- and not
- يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
- they can advance (it).
And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon the earth any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede (it).
16:61
