Sura 16 Al-Nahl (The Bee), ayah 63

  1. تَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ أُمَمٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

    Translation by words

    تَٱللَّهِ
    By Allah,
    لَقَدْ
    certainly
    أَرْسَلْنَآ
    We have sent
    إِلَىٰٓ
    to
    أُمَمٍ
    nations
    مِّن
    before you
    قَبْلِكَ
    before you
    فَزَيَّنَ
    but made fair-seeming
    لَهُمُ
    to them
    ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
    the Shaitaan
    أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ
    their deeds.
    فَهُوَ
    So he
    وَلِيُّهُمُ
    (is) their ally
    ٱلْيَوْمَ
    today,
    وَلَهُمْ
    and for them
    عَذَابٌ
    (is) a punishment
    أَلِيمٌ
    painful.

    By Allah, We did certainly send (messengers) to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds attractive to them. And he is the disbelievers' ally today (as well), and they will have a painful punishment.
