Sura 16 Al-Nahl (The Bee), ayah 91
-
وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ إِذَا عَاهَدْتُمْ وَلَا تَنْقُضُوا الْأَيْمَانَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ اللَّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
Translation by words
- وَأَوْفُوا۟
- And fulfil
- بِعَهْدِ
- the covenant
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- إِذَا
- when
- عَٰهَدتُّمْ
- you have taken a covenant,
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- تَنقُضُوا۟
- break
- ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ
- oaths
- بَعْدَ
- after
- تَوْكِيدِهَا
- their confirmation
- وَقَدْ
- while verily
- جَعَلْتُمُ
- you have made
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- عَلَيْكُمْ
- over you
- كَفِيلًا
- a surety.
- إِنَّ
- Indeed,
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- يَعْلَمُ
- knows
- مَا
- what
- تَفْعَلُونَ
- you do.
And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have taken it, (O believers), and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made Allah, over you, a witness. Indeed, Allah knows what you do.
16:91
