Sura 17 Al-Isra (The Night Journey), ayah 4

  1. وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فِي الْكِتَابِ لَتُفْسِدُنَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَتَعْلُنَّ عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا

    Translation by words

    وَقَضَيْنَآ
    And We decreed
    إِلَىٰ
    for
    بَنِىٓ
    (the) Children
    إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
    (of) Israel
    فِى
    in
    ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
    the Book,
    لَتُفْسِدُنَّ
    "Surely you will cause corruption
    فِى
    in
    ٱلْأَرْضِ
    the earth
    مَرَّتَيْنِ
    twice,
    وَلَتَعْلُنَّ
    and surely you will reach,
    عُلُوًّا
    haughtiness
    كَبِيرًا
    great."

    And We conveyed to the Children of Israel in the Scripture that, "You will surely cause corruption on the earth twice, and you will surely reach (a degree of) great haughtiness.
