Sura 17 Al-Isra (The Night Journey), ayah 73

  1. وَإِنْ كَادُوا لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ عَنِ الَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَفْتَرِيَ عَلَيْنَا غَيْرَهُ ۖ وَإِذًا لَاتَّخَذُوكَ خَلِيلًا

    Translation by words

    وَإِن
    And indeed,
    كَادُوا۟
    they were about (to)
    لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ
    tempt you away
    عَنِ
    from
    ٱلَّذِىٓ
    that which
    أَوْحَيْنَآ
    We revealed,
    إِلَيْكَ
    to you
    لِتَفْتَرِىَ
    that you invent
    عَلَيْنَا
    about Us
    غَيْرَهُۥ
    other (than) it.
    وَإِذًا
    And then
    لَّٱتَّخَذُوكَ
    surely they would take you
    خَلِيلًا
    (as) a friend.

And indeed, they were about to tempt you away from that which We revealed to you in order to (make) you invent about Us something else; and then they would have taken you as a friend.
