Sura 25 Al-Furqan (The Criterion), ayah 53
-
وَهُوَ الَّذِي مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ هَٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ وَهَٰذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخًا وَحِجْرًا مَحْجُورًا
Translation by words
- وَهُوَ
- And He
- ٱلَّذِى
- (is) the One Who
- مَرَجَ
- (has) released
- ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ
- the two seas
- هَٰذَا
- [this] (one)
- عَذْبٌ
- palatable
- فُرَاتٌ
- and sweet
- وَهَٰذَا
- and [this] (one)
- مِلْحٌ
- salty
- أُجَاجٌ
- (and) bitter,
- وَجَعَلَ
- and He has made
- بَيْنَهُمَا
- between them
- بَرْزَخًا
- a barrier
- وَحِجْرًا
- and a partition
- مَّحْجُورًا
- forbidden.
And it is He who has released (simultaneously) the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.
