Sura 27 An-Naml (The Ant), ayah 10

  1. وَأَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَانٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَا مُوسَىٰ لَا تَخَفْ إِنِّي لَا يَخَافُ لَدَيَّ الْمُرْسَلُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَأَلْقِ
    And, "Throw
    عَصَاكَ
    your staff."
    فَلَمَّا
    But when
    رَءَاهَا
    he saw it
    تَهْتَزُّ
    moving
    كَأَنَّهَا
    as if it
    جَآنٌّ
    (were) a snake
    وَلَّىٰ
    he turned back
    مُدْبِرًا
    (in) flight
    وَلَمْ
    and (did) not
    يُعَقِّبْ
    look back.
    يَٰمُوسَىٰ
    "O Musa!
    لَا
    (Do) not
    تَخَفْ
    fear.
    إِنِّى
    Indeed, [I]
    لَا
    (do) not
    يَخَافُ
    fear
    لَدَىَّ
    (in) My presence
    ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
    the Messengers.

    And (he was told), "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. (Allah said), "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.
