Sura 28 Al-Qasas (The Stories), ayah 68

  1. وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيَخْتَارُ ۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَرَبُّكَ
    And your Lord
    يَخْلُقُ
    creates
    مَا
    what
    يَشَآءُ
    He wills
    وَيَخْتَارُ
    and chooses.
    مَا
    Not
    كَانَ
    they have
    لَهُمُ
    for them
    ٱلْخِيَرَةُ
    the choice.
    سُبْحَٰنَ
    Glory be
    ٱللَّهِ
    (to) Allah
    وَتَعَٰلَىٰ
    and High is He
    عَمَّا
    above what
    يُشْرِكُونَ
    they associate (with Him).

And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him.
