Sura 29 Al-'Ankabut (The Spider), ayah 10
-
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِذَا أُوذِيَ فِي اللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِنْ جَاءَ نَصْرٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ الْعَالَمِينَ
Translation by words
- وَمِنَ
- And of
- ٱلنَّاسِ
- the people
- مَن
- (is he) who
- يَقُولُ
- says,
- ءَامَنَّا
- "We believe
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah."
- فَإِذَآ
- But when
- أُوذِىَ
- he is harmed
- فِى
- in
- ٱللَّهِ
- (the Way of) Allah
- جَعَلَ
- he considers
- فِتْنَةَ
- (the) trial
- ٱلنَّاسِ
- (of) the people
- كَعَذَابِ
- as (the) punishment
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah.
- وَلَئِن
- But if
- جَآءَ
- comes
- نَصْرٌ
- victory
- مِّن
- from
- رَّبِّكَ
- your Lord,
- لَيَقُولُنَّ
- surely they say,
- إِنَّا
- "Indeed, we
- كُنَّا
- were
- مَعَكُمْ
- with you."
- أَوَلَيْسَ
- Is not
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- بِأَعْلَمَ
- most knowing
- بِمَا
- of what
- فِى
- (is) in
- صُدُورِ
- (the) breasts
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- (of) the worlds?
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one (of them) is harmed for (the cause of) Allah, they consider the trial of the people as (if it were) the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures?
29:10
