Sura 29 Al-'Ankabut (The Spider), ayah 39

  1. وَقَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مُوسَىٰ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا سَابِقِينَ

    Translation by words

    وَقَٰرُونَ
    And Qarun,
    وَفِرْعَوْنَ
    and Firaun
    وَهَٰمَٰنَ
    and Haman.
    وَلَقَدْ
    And certainly
    جَآءَهُم
    came to them
    مُّوسَىٰ
    Musa
    بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
    with clear evidences,
    فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
    but they were arrogant
    فِى
    in
    ٱلْأَرْضِ
    the earth,
    وَمَا
    and not
    كَانُوا۟
    they could
    سَٰبِقِينَ
    outstrip Us.

    And (We destroyed) Qarun and Pharaoh and Haman. And Moses had already come to them with clear evidences, and they were arrogant in the land, but they were not outrunners (of Our punishment).
