Sura 29 Al-'Ankabut (The Spider), ayah 46

  1. وَلَا تُجَادِلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِالَّذِي أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَأُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُنَا وَإِلَٰهُكُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَلَا
    And (do) not
    تُجَٰدِلُوٓا۟
    argue
    أَهْلَ
    (with the) People of the Book
    ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
    (with the) People of the Book
    إِلَّا
    except
    بِٱلَّتِى
    by which
    هِىَ
    [it]
    أَحْسَنُ
    (is) best,
    إِلَّا
    except
    ٱلَّذِينَ
    those who
    ظَلَمُوا۟
    (do) wrong
    مِنْهُمْ
    among them,
    وَقُولُوٓا۟
    and say,
    ءَامَنَّا
    "We believe
    بِٱلَّذِىٓ
    in that (which)
    أُنزِلَ
    has been revealed
    إِلَيْنَا
    to us
    وَأُنزِلَ
    and was revealed
    إِلَيْكُمْ
    to you.
    وَإِلَٰهُنَا
    And our God
    وَإِلَٰهُكُمْ
    and your God
    وَٰحِدٌ
    (is) One,
    وَنَحْنُ
    and we
    لَهُۥ
    to Him
    مُسْلِمُونَ
    submit."

    And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims (in submission) to Him."
