Sura 29 Al-'Ankabut (The Spider), ayah 53

  1. وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ ۚ وَلَوْلَا أَجَلٌ مُسَمًّى لَجَاءَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُمْ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ
    And they ask you to hasten
    بِٱلْعَذَابِ
    [with] the punishment.
    وَلَوْلَآ
    And if not
    أَجَلٌ
    (for) a term
    مُّسَمًّى
    appointed,
    لَّجَآءَهُمُ
    surely (would) have come to them
    ٱلْعَذَابُ
    the punishment.
    وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم
    But it will surely come to them
    بَغْتَةً
    suddenly
    وَهُمْ
    while they
    لَا
    (do) not
    يَشْعُرُونَ
    perceive.

    And they urge you to hasten the punishment. And if not for (the decree of) a specified term, punishment would have reached them. But it will surely come to them suddenly while they perceive not.
