Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 154

  1. وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ يُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتٌ ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ وَلَٰكِنْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَلَا
    And (do) not
    تَقُولُوا۟
    say
    لِمَن
    for (the ones) who
    يُقْتَلُ
    are slain
    فِى
    in
    سَبِيلِ
    (the) way
    ٱللَّهِ
    (of) Allah
    أَمْوَٰتٌۢ
    "(They are) dead."
    بَلْ
    Nay,
    أَحْيَآءٌ
    (they are) alive
    وَلَٰكِن
    [and] but
    لَّا
    you (do) not
    تَشْعُرُونَ
    perceive.

    And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah, "They are dead." Rather, they are alive, but you perceive (it) not.
