Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 36

  1. فَأَزَلَّهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ عَنْهَا فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِمَّا كَانَا فِيهِ ۖ وَقُلْنَا اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

    Translation by words

    فَأَزَلَّهُمَا
    Then made [both of] them slip
    ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
    the Shaitaan
    عَنْهَا
    from it,
    فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا
    and he got [both of] them out
    مِمَّا
    from what
    كَانَا
    they [both] were
    فِيهِ
    in [it].
    وَقُلْنَا
    And We said,
    ٱهْبِطُوا۟
    "Go down (all of you),
    بَعْضُكُمْ
    some of you
    لِبَعْضٍ
    to others
    عَدُوٌّ
    (as) enemy;
    وَلَكُمْ
    and for you
    فِى
    in
    ٱلْأَرْضِ
    the earth
    مُسْتَقَرٌّ
    (is) a dwelling place
    وَمَتَٰعٌ
    and a provision
    إِلَىٰ
    for
    حِينٍ
    a period."

    But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that (condition) in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, (all of you), as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time."
