Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 84

  1. وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ لَا تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَلَا تُخْرِجُونَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَإِذْ
    And when
    أَخَذْنَا
    We took
    مِيثَٰقَكُمْ
    your covenant,
    لَا
    "Not
    تَسْفِكُونَ
    will you shed
    دِمَآءَكُمْ
    your blood
    وَلَا
    and not
    تُخْرِجُونَ
    (will) evict
    أَنفُسَكُم
    yourselves
    مِّن
    from
    دِيَٰرِكُمْ
    your homes,"
    ثُمَّ
    then
    أَقْرَرْتُمْ
    you ratified
    وَأَنتُمْ
    while you
    تَشْهَدُونَ
    (were) witnessing.

    And (recall) when We took your covenant, (saying), "Do not shed each other's blood or evict one another from your homes." Then you acknowledged (this) while you were witnessing.
