Sura 30 Ar-Rum (The Romans), ayah 39
-
وَمَا آتَيْتُمْ مِنْ رِبًا لِيَرْبُوَ فِي أَمْوَالِ النَّاسِ فَلَا يَرْبُو عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ وَمَا آتَيْتُمْ مِنْ زَكَاةٍ تُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُضْعِفُونَ
Translation by words
- وَمَآ
- And what
- ءَاتَيْتُم
- you give
- مِّن
- for
- رِّبًا
- usury
- لِّيَرْبُوَا۟
- to increase
- فِىٓ
- in
- أَمْوَٰلِ
- (the) wealth
- ٱلنَّاسِ
- (of) people,
- فَلَا
- not
- يَرْبُوا۟
- (will) increase
- عِندَ
- with
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah.
- وَمَآ
- But what
- ءَاتَيْتُم
- you give
- مِّن
- of
- زَكَوٰةٍ
- zakah
- تُرِيدُونَ
- desiring
- وَجْهَ
- (the) Countenance
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah,
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- هُمُ
- [they]
- ٱلْمُضْعِفُونَ
- (will) get manifold.
And whatever you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allah. But what you give in zakah, desiring the countenance of Allah - those are the multipliers.
30:39
