Sura 32 As-Sajdah (The Prostration), ayah 26

  1. أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ ۖ أَفَلَا يَسْمَعُونَ

    Translation by words

    أَوَلَمْ
    Does it not
    يَهْدِ
    guide
    لَهُمْ
    [for] them,
    كَمْ
    (that) how many
    أَهْلَكْنَا
    We have destroyed
    مِن
    before them
    قَبْلِهِم
    before them
    مِّنَ
    of
    ٱلْقُرُونِ
    the generations,
    يَمْشُونَ
    they walk about
    فِى
    in
    مَسَٰكِنِهِمْ
    their dwellings.
    إِنَّ
    Indeed,
    فِى
    in
    ذَٰلِكَ
    that
    لَءَايَٰتٍ
    surely, are Signs.
    أَفَلَا
    Then do not
    يَسْمَعُونَ
    they hear?

    Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, (as) they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs; then do they not hear?
