Sura 39 Az-Zumar (The Troops), ayah 4

  1. لَوْ أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا لَاصْطَفَىٰ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ ۖ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ

    Translation by words

    لَّوْ
    If
    أَرَادَ
    Allah (had) intended
    ٱللَّهُ
    Allah (had) intended
    أَن
    to
    يَتَّخِذَ
    take
    وَلَدًا
    a son,
    لَّٱصْطَفَىٰ
    surely, He (could) have chosen
    مِمَّا
    from what
    يَخْلُقُ
    He creates
    مَا
    whatever
    يَشَآءُ
    He willed.
    سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ
    Glory be to Him!
    هُوَ
    He
    ٱللَّهُ
    (is) Allah
    ٱلْوَٰحِدُ
    the One,
    ٱلْقَهَّارُ
    the Irresistible.

    If Allah had intended to take a son, He could have chosen from what He creates whatever He willed. Exalted is He; He is Allah, the One, the Prevailing.

    39:4
