Sura 3 Ali 'Imran (Family of Imran), ayah 65

  1. يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَتِ التَّوْرَاةُ وَالْإِنْجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

    Translation by words

    يَٰٓأَهْلَ
    O People
    ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
    (of) the Book!
    لِمَ
    Why
    تُحَآجُّونَ
    (do) you argue
    فِىٓ
    concerning
    إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
    Ibrahim
    وَمَآ
    while not
    أُنزِلَتِ
    was revealed
    ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ
    the Taurat
    وَٱلْإِنجِيلُ
    and the Injeel
    إِلَّا
    except
    مِنۢ
    from
    بَعْدِهِۦٓ
    after him?
    أَفَلَا
    Then why don't
    تَعْقِلُونَ
    you use your intellect?

    O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?
