Sura 43 Az-Zukhruf (The Ornaments of gold), ayah 8

1. فَأَهْلَكْنَا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

   Translation by words

   فَأَهْلَكْنَآ

   Then We destroyed

   أَشَدَّ

   stronger

   مِنْهُم

   than them

   بَطْشًا

   (in) power

   وَمَضَىٰ

   and has passed

   مَثَلُ

   (the) example

   ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

   (of) the former (people).

   And We destroyed greater than them in (striking) power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded.

   43:8
