Sura 54 Al-Qamar (The Moon), ayah 31

  1. إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ

    Translation by words

    إِنَّآ
    Indeed, We
    أَرْسَلْنَا
    [We] sent
    عَلَيْهِمْ
    upon them
    صَيْحَةً
    thunderous blast
    وَٰحِدَةً
    single,
    فَكَانُوا۟
    and they became
    كَهَشِيمِ
    like dry twig fragments
    ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ
    (used by) a fence builder.

    Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an (animal) pen.
