Sura 57 Al-Hadid (The Iron), ayah 29

  1. لِئَلَّا يَعْلَمَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَلَّا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ ۙ وَأَنَّ الْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ

    Translation by words

    لِّئَلَّا
    So that
    يَعْلَمَ
    may know
    أَهْلُ
    (the) People
    ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
    (of) the Book
    أَلَّا
    that not
    يَقْدِرُونَ
    they have power
    عَلَىٰ
    over
    شَىْءٍ
    anything
    مِّن
    from
    فَضْلِ
    (the) Bounty
    ٱللَّهِ
    (of) Allah,
    وَأَنَّ
    and that
    ٱلْفَضْلَ
    the Bounty
    بِيَدِ
    (is) in Allah's Hand;
    ٱللَّهِ
    (is) in Allah's Hand;
    يُؤْتِيهِ
    He gives it
    مَن
    whom
    يَشَآءُ
    He wills.
    وَٱللَّهُ
    And Allah
    ذُو
    (is) the Possessor of Bounty
    ٱلْفَضْلِ
    (is) the Possessor of Bounty
    ٱلْعَظِيمِ
    the Great.

    (This is) so that the People of the Scripture may know that they are not able (to obtain) anything from the bounty of Allah and that (all) bounty is in the hand of Allah; He gives it to whom He wills. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
