Sura 58 Al-Mujadila (The Pleading Woman), ayah 16

1. اتَّخَذُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ

   Translation by words

   ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟

   They have taken

   أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ

   their oaths

   جُنَّةً

   (as) a cover,

   فَصَدُّوا۟

   so they hinder

   عَن

   from

   سَبِيلِ

   (the) way of Allah,

   ٱللَّهِ

   (the) way of Allah,

   فَلَهُمْ

   so for them

   عَذَابٌ

   (is) a punishment

   مُّهِينٌ

   humiliating.

   They took their (false) oaths as a cover, so they averted (people) from the way of Allah, and for them is a humiliating punishment.

   58:16
