Sura 60 Al-Mumtahanah (She that is to be examined), ayah 11
-
وَإِنْ فَاتَكُمْ شَيْءٌ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ إِلَى الْكُفَّارِ فَعَاقَبْتُمْ فَآتُوا الَّذِينَ ذَهَبَتْ أَزْوَاجُهُمْ مِثْلَ مَا أَنْفَقُوا ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي أَنْتُمْ بِهِ مُؤْمِنُونَ
Translation by words
- وَإِن
- And if
- فَاتَكُمْ
- have gone from you
- شَىْءٌ
- any
- مِّنْ
- of
- أَزْوَٰجِكُمْ
- your wives
- إِلَى
- to
- ٱلْكُفَّارِ
- the disbelievers
- فَعَاقَبْتُمْ
- then your turn comes,
- فَـَٔاتُوا۟
- then give
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (to) those who
- ذَهَبَتْ
- have gone,
- أَزْوَٰجُهُم
- their wives,
- مِّثْلَ
- (the) like
- مَآ
- (of) what
- أَنفَقُوا۟
- they had spent.
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- And fear
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ٱلَّذِىٓ
- (in) Whom,
- أَنتُم
- you,
- بِهِۦ
- [in Him]
- مُؤْمِنُونَ
- (are) believers.
And if you have lost any of your wives to the disbelievers and you subsequently obtain (something), then give those whose wives have gone the equivalent of what they had spent. And fear Allah, in whom you are believers.
60:11
