Sura 62 Al-Jumu'ah (The Congregation, Friday), ayah 11
-
وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا ۚ قُلْ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ اللَّهْوِ وَمِنَ التِّجَارَةِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
Translation by words
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- رَأَوْا۟
- they saw
- تِجَٰرَةً
- a transaction
- أَوْ
- or
- لَهْوًا
- a sport,
- ٱنفَضُّوٓا۟
- they rushed
- إِلَيْهَا
- to it
- وَتَرَكُوكَ
- and left you
- قَآئِمًا
- standing.
- قُلْ
- Say,
- مَا
- "What
- عِندَ
- (is) with
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) better
- مِّنَ
- than
- ٱللَّهْوِ
- the sport
- وَمِنَ
- and from
- ٱلتِّجَٰرَةِ
- (any) transaction.
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- خَيْرُ
- (is the) Best
- ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
- (of) the Providers."
But when they saw a transaction or a diversion, (O Muhammad), they rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allah is better than diversion and than a transaction, and Allah is the best of providers."
62:11
Translation: Saheeh International
