Sura 62 Al-Jumu'ah (The Congregation, Friday), ayah 9
-
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَاةِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Translation by words
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (you) who
- ءَامَنُوٓا۟
- believe!
- إِذَا
- When
- نُودِىَ
- (the) call is made
- لِلصَّلَوٰةِ
- for (the) prayer
- مِن
- on
- يَوْمِ
- (the) day
- ٱلْجُمُعَةِ
- (of) Friday,
- فَٱسْعَوْا۟
- then hasten
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- ذِكْرِ
- (the) remembrance
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- وَذَرُوا۟
- and leave
- ٱلْبَيْعَ
- the business.
- ذَٰلِكُمْ
- That
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) better
- لَّكُمْ
- for you,
- إِن
- if
- كُنتُمْ
- you
- تَعْلَمُونَ
- know.
O you who have believed, when (the adhan) is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah (Friday), then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.
62:9
