Sura 98 Al-Bayyinah (The Evidence), ayah 1

  1. لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنْفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ

    Translation by words

    لَمْ
    Not
    يَكُنِ
    were
    ٱلَّذِينَ
    those who
    كَفَرُوا۟
    disbelieved
    مِنْ
    from
    أَهْلِ
    (the) People
    ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
    of the Book
    وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
    and the polytheists,
    مُنفَكِّينَ
    to be abandoned
    حَتَّىٰ
    until
    تَأْتِيَهُمُ
    (there) comes to them
    ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ
    the clear evidence,

    Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted (from misbelief) until there came to them clear evidence -

    98:1
