Sura 9 At-Tawbah (The Repentance), ayah 12

  1. وَإِنْ نَكَثُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ فَقَاتِلُوا أَئِمَّةَ الْكُفْرِ ۙ إِنَّهُمْ لَا أَيْمَانَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنْتَهُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَإِن
    And if
    نَّكَثُوٓا۟
    they break
    أَيْمَٰنَهُم
    their oaths
    مِّنۢ
    after
    بَعْدِ
    after
    عَهْدِهِمْ
    their treaty
    وَطَعَنُوا۟
    and defame
    فِى
    [in]
    دِينِكُمْ
    your religion,
    فَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟
    then fight
    أَئِمَّةَ
    the leaders
    ٱلْكُفْرِ
    (of) [the] disbelief,
    إِنَّهُمْ
    indeed, they -
    لَآ
    no
    أَيْمَٰنَ
    oaths
    لَهُمْ
    for them,
    لَعَلَّهُمْ
    so that they may
    يَنتَهُونَ
    cease.

    And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths (sacred) to them; (fight them that) they might cease.
