Sura 13 Ar-Ra'd (The Thunder), ayah 32

  1. وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ

    Translation by words

    وَلَقَدِ
    And certainly,
    ٱسْتُهْزِئَ
    were mocked
    بِرُسُلٍ
    Messengers
    مِّن
    from
    قَبْلِكَ
    before you,
    فَأَمْلَيْتُ
    but I granted respite
    لِلَّذِينَ
    to those who
    كَفَرُوا۟
    disbelieved;
    ثُمَّ
    then
    أَخَذْتُهُمْ
    I seized them,
    فَكَيْفَ
    and how
    كَانَ
    was
    عِقَابِ
    My penalty.

    And already were (other) messengers ridiculed before you, and I extended the time of those who disbelieved; then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My penalty.
