Sura 16 Al-Nahl (The Bee), ayah 58

1. وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُمْ بِالْأُنْثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ

   Translation by words

   وَإِذَا

   And when

   بُشِّرَ

   is given good news

   أَحَدُهُم

   (to) one of them

   بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ

   of a female,

   ظَلَّ

   turns

   وَجْهُهُۥ

   his face

   مُسْوَدًّا

   dark

   وَهُوَ

   and he

   كَظِيمٌ

   suppresses grief.

   And when one of them is informed of (the birth of) a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
