Sura 17 Al-Isra (The Night Journey), ayah 12
-
وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ آيَتَيْنِ ۖ فَمَحَوْنَا آيَةَ اللَّيْلِ وَجَعَلْنَا آيَةَ النَّهَارِ مُبْصِرَةً لِتَبْتَغُوا فَضْلًا مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَلِتَعْلَمُوا عَدَدَ السِّنِينَ وَالْحِسَابَ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَصَّلْنَاهُ تَفْصِيلًا
Translation by words
- وَجَعَلْنَا
- And We have made
- ٱلَّيْلَ
- the night
- وَٱلنَّهَارَ
- and the day
- ءَايَتَيْنِ
- (as) two signs.
- فَمَحَوْنَآ
- Then We erased
- ءَايَةَ
- (the) sign
- ٱلَّيْلِ
- (of) the night,
- وَجَعَلْنَآ
- and We made
- ءَايَةَ
- (the) sign
- ٱلنَّهَارِ
- (of) the day
- مُبْصِرَةً
- visible,
- لِّتَبْتَغُوا۟
- that you may seek
- فَضْلًا
- bounty
- مِّن
- from
- رَّبِّكُمْ
- your Lord,
- وَلِتَعْلَمُوا۟
- and that you may know
- عَدَدَ
- (the) number
- ٱلسِّنِينَ
- (of) the years,
- وَٱلْحِسَابَ
- and the account.
- وَكُلَّ
- And every
- شَىْءٍ
- thing -
- فَصَّلْنَٰهُ
- We have explained it
- تَفْصِيلًا
- (in) detail.
And We have made the night and day two signs, and We erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day visible that you may seek bounty from your Lord and may know the number of years and the account (of time). And everything We have set out in detail.
