Sura 17 Al-Isra (The Night Journey), ayah 29

وَلَا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَىٰ عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ الْبَسْطِ فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُومًا مَحْسُورًا
Translation by words
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- تَجْعَلْ
- make
- يَدَكَ
- your hand
- مَغْلُولَةً
- chained
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- عُنُقِكَ
- your neck,
- وَلَا
- and not
- تَبْسُطْهَا
- extend it
- كُلَّ
- (to its) utmost
- ٱلْبَسْطِ
- reach,
- فَتَقْعُدَ
- so that you sit
- مَلُومًا
- blameworthy,
- مَّحْسُورًا
- insolvent.
And do not make your hand (as) chained to your neck or extend it completely and (thereby) become blamed and insolvent.
