Sura 18 Al-Kahf (The Cave), ayah 12

  1. ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَاهُمْ لِنَعْلَمَ أَيُّ الْحِزْبَيْنِ أَحْصَىٰ لِمَا لَبِثُوا أَمَدًا

    Translation by words

    ثُمَّ
    Then
    بَعَثْنَٰهُمْ
    We raised them up
    لِنَعْلَمَ
    that We make evident
    أَىُّ
    which
    ٱلْحِزْبَيْنِ
    (of) the two parties
    أَحْصَىٰ
    best calculated
    لِمَا
    for what
    لَبِثُوٓا۟
    (they had) remained
    أَمَدًا
    (in) time.

    Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two factions was most precise in calculating what (extent) they had remained in time.
