Sura 21 Al-Anbiya (The Prophets), ayah 52

  1. إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا هَٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِيلُ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُونَ

    Translation by words

    إِذْ
    When
    قَالَ
    he said
    لِأَبِيهِ
    to his father
    وَقَوْمِهِۦ
    and his people,
    مَا
    "What
    هَٰذِهِ
    (are) these
    ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ
    [the] statues
    ٱلَّتِىٓ
    which
    أَنتُمْ
    you
    لَهَا
    to it
    عَٰكِفُونَ
    (are) devoted?"

    When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?"
