Sura 22 Al-Hajj (The Pilgrimage), ayah 13

يَدْعُو لَمَنْ ضَرُّهُ أَقْرَبُ مِنْ نَفْعِهِ ۚ لَبِئْسَ الْمَوْلَىٰ وَلَبِئْسَ الْعَشِيرُ
Translation by words
- يَدْعُوا۟
- He calls
- لَمَن
- (one) who -
- ضَرُّهُۥٓ
- his harm
- أَقْرَبُ
- (is) closer
- مِن
- than
- نَّفْعِهِۦ
- his benefit.
- لَبِئْسَ
- Surely, an evil
- ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ
- protector
- وَلَبِئْسَ
- and surely an evil
- ٱلْعَشِيرُ
- friend!
He invokes one whose harm is closer than his benefit - how wretched the protector and how wretched the associate.
