Sura 23 Al-Mu'minun (The Believers), ayah 100

  1. لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صَالِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّا ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَائِلُهَا ۖ وَمِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

    Translation by words

    لَعَلِّىٓ
    That I may
    أَعْمَلُ
    do
    صَٰلِحًا
    righteous (deeds)
    فِيمَا
    in what
    تَرَكْتُ
    I left behind."
    كَلَّآ
    No!
    إِنَّهَا
    Indeed, it
    كَلِمَةٌ
    (is) a word
    هُوَ
    he
    قَآئِلُهَا
    speaks it,
    وَمِن
    and before them
    وَرَآئِهِم
    and before them
    بَرْزَخٌ
    (is) a barrier
    إِلَىٰ
    till
    يَوْمِ
    (the) Day
    يُبْعَثُونَ
    they are resurrected.

    That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.
