Sura 25 Al-Furqan (The Criterion), ayah 62

  1. وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةً لِمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُورًا

    Translation by words

    وَهُوَ
    And He
    ٱلَّذِى
    (is) the One Who
    جَعَلَ
    made
    ٱلَّيْلَ
    the night
    وَٱلنَّهَارَ
    and the day
    خِلْفَةً
    (in) succession
    لِّمَنْ
    for whoever
    أَرَادَ
    desires
    أَن
    to
    يَذَّكَّرَ
    remember
    أَوْ
    or
    أَرَادَ
    desires
    شُكُورًا
    to be thankful.

    And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.
