Sura 28 Al-Qasas (The Stories), ayah 10

  1. وَأَصْبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَارِغًا ۖ إِنْ كَادَتْ لَتُبْدِي بِهِ لَوْلَا أَنْ رَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قَلْبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

    Translation by words

    وَأَصْبَحَ
    And became
    فُؤَادُ
    (the) heart
    أُمِّ
    (of the) mother
    مُوسَىٰ
    (of) Musa
    فَٰرِغًا
    empty.
    إِن
    That,
    كَادَتْ
    she was near
    لَتُبْدِى
    (to) disclosing
    بِهِۦ
    about him,
    لَوْلَآ
    if not
    أَن
    that
    رَّبَطْنَا
    We strengthened
    عَلَىٰ
    [over]
    قَلْبِهَا
    her heart,
    لِتَكُونَ
    so that she would be
    مِنَ
    of
    ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
    the believers.

    And the heart of Moses' mother became empty (of all else). She was about to disclose (the matter concerning) him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers.
