Sura 28 Al-Qasas (The Stories), ayah 86

  1. وَمَا كُنْتَ تَرْجُو أَنْ يُلْقَىٰ إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِنْ رَبِّكَ ۖ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرًا لِلْكَافِرِينَ

    Translation by words

    وَمَا
    And not
    كُنتَ
    you were
    تَرْجُوٓا۟
    expecting
    أَن
    that
    يُلْقَىٰٓ
    would be sent down
    إِلَيْكَ
    to you
    ٱلْكِتَٰبُ
    the Book,
    إِلَّا
    except
    رَحْمَةً
    (as) a mercy
    مِّن
    from
    رَّبِّكَ
    your Lord.
    فَلَا
    So (do) not
    تَكُونَنَّ
    be
    ظَهِيرًا
    an assistant
    لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ
    to the disbelievers.

    And you were not expecting that the Book would be conveyed to you, but (it is) a mercy from your Lord. So do not be an assistant to the disbelievers.

    28:86
