Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 224

  1. وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا اللَّهَ عُرْضَةً لِأَيْمَانِكُمْ أَنْ تَبَرُّوا وَتَتَّقُوا وَتُصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

    Translation by words

    وَلَا
    And (do) not
    تَجْعَلُوا۟
    make
    ٱللَّهَ
    Allah's (name)
    عُرْضَةً
    an excuse
    لِّأَيْمَٰنِكُمْ
    in your oaths
    أَن
    that
    تَبَرُّوا۟
    you do good,
    وَتَتَّقُوا۟
    and be righteous
    وَتُصْلِحُوا۟
    and make peace
    بَيْنَ
    between
    ٱلنَّاسِ
    [the] people.
    وَٱللَّهُ
    And Allah
    سَمِيعٌ
    (is) All-Hearing,
    عَلِيمٌ
    All-Knowing.

    And do not make (your oath by) Allah an excuse against being righteous and fearing Allah and making peace among people. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
