Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 255

  1. اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

    Translation by words

    ٱللَّهُ
    Allah -
    لَآ
    (there is) no
    إِلَٰهَ
    God
    إِلَّا
    except
    هُوَ
    Him,
    ٱلْحَىُّ
    the Ever-Living,
    ٱلْقَيُّومُ
    the Sustainer of all that exists.
    لَا
    Not
    تَأْخُذُهُۥ
    overtakes Him
    سِنَةٌ
    slumber
    وَلَا
    [and] not
    نَوْمٌ
    sleep.
    لَّهُۥ
    To Him (belongs)
    مَا
    what(ever)
    فِى
    (is) in
    ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
    the heavens
    وَمَا
    and what(ever)
    فِى
    (is) in
    ٱلْأَرْضِ
    the earth.
    مَن
    Who
    ذَا
    (is) the one
    ٱلَّذِى
    who
    يَشْفَعُ
    can intercede
    عِندَهُۥٓ
    with Him
    إِلَّا
    except
    بِإِذْنِهِۦ
    by His permission.
    يَعْلَمُ
    He knows
    مَا
    what
    بَيْنَ
    (is)
    أَيْدِيهِمْ
    before them
    وَمَا
    and what
    خَلْفَهُمْ
    (is) behind them.
    وَلَا
    And not
    يُحِيطُونَ
    they encompass
    بِشَىْءٍ
    anything
    مِّنْ
    of
    عِلْمِهِۦٓ
    His Knowledge
    إِلَّا
    except
    بِمَا
    [of] what
    شَآءَ
    He willed.
    وَسِعَ
    Extends
    كُرْسِيُّهُ
    His Throne
    ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
    (to) the heavens
    وَٱلْأَرْضَ
    and the earth.
    وَلَا
    And not
    يَـُٔودُهُۥ
    tires Him
    حِفْظُهُمَا
    (the) guarding of both of them.
    وَهُوَ
    And He
    ٱلْعَلِىُّ
    (is) the Most High,
    ٱلْعَظِيمُ
    the Most Great.

    Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of (all) existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is (presently) before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
