Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 30

  1. وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَنْ يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَإِذْ
    And when
    قَالَ
    said
    رَبُّكَ
    your Lord
    لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
    to the angels,
    إِنِّى
    "Indeed, I (am)
    جَاعِلٌ
    going to place
    فِى
    in
    ٱلْأَرْضِ
    the earth
    خَلِيفَةً
    a vicegerent,
    قَالُوٓا۟
    they said,
    أَتَجْعَلُ
    "Will You place
    فِيهَا
    in it
    مَن
    (one) who
    يُفْسِدُ
    will spread corruption
    فِيهَا
    in it
    وَيَسْفِكُ
    and will shed
    ٱلدِّمَآءَ
    [the] blood[s],
    وَنَحْنُ
    while we,
    نُسَبِّحُ
    [we] glorify (You)
    بِحَمْدِكَ
    with Your praises
    وَنُقَدِّسُ
    and we sanctify
    لَكَ
    [to] You."
    قَالَ
    He said,
    إِنِّىٓ
    "Indeed, I
    أَعْلَمُ
    [I] know
    مَا
    what
    لَا
    not
    تَعْلَمُونَ
    you know."

    And (mention, O Muhammad), when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
