Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 31

  1. وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنْبِئُونِي بِأَسْمَاءِ هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

    Translation by words

    وَعَلَّمَ
    And He taught
    ءَادَمَ
    Adam
    ٱلْأَسْمَآءَ
    the names -
    كُلَّهَا
    all of them.
    ثُمَّ
    Then
    عَرَضَهُمْ
    He displayed them
    عَلَى
    to
    ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
    the angels,
    فَقَالَ
    then He said,
    أَنۢبِـُٔونِى
    "Inform Me
    بِأَسْمَآءِ
    of (the) names
    هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
    (of) these,
    إِن
    if
    كُنتُمْ
    you are
    صَٰدِقِينَ
    truthful."

    And He taught Adam the names - all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."
