Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 51

  1. وَإِذْ وَاعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَأَنْتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَإِذْ
    And when
    وَٰعَدْنَا
    We appointed
    مُوسَىٰٓ
    (for) Musa
    أَرْبَعِينَ
    forty
    لَيْلَةً
    nights.
    ثُمَّ
    Then
    ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ
    you took
    ٱلْعِجْلَ
    the calf
    مِنۢ
    from
    بَعْدِهِۦ
    after him
    وَأَنتُمْ
    and you
    ظَٰلِمُونَ
    (were) wrongdoers.

    And (recall) when We made an appointment with Moses for forty nights. Then you took (for worship) the calf after him, while you were wrongdoers.
